Welcome to this new series of reviews, called Play It Now. With PIN, I’ll cover amazing games that you might have missed. They’re not big titles, they’re not all that recent, and maybe they just didn’t get the limelight they deserved. They’re all great games that I’ve either enjoyed playing, or that I’m still passionate about today. Here, we'll look at Flamebreak.
One I missed actually getting full Linux support earlier this year was PLAY WITH ME, a game that mixes puzzles and horror together to create a weird experience.
Astervoid 2000 was sent in by the developer and I've been testing out this multiplayer space brawler to see if it's worthy. It's surprisingly great actually! Mixing some lovely pixel art with sick tunes makes for an explosive experience.
It has been a long time coming, but the developers of The Flock have finally updated the game to include a beta version for Linux.
I'm a little late on reporting this due to being ill, but Quake has been ported to Vulkan and it's open source of course.
A viking with a gun you say? Okay, I'm interested. At the end of October Gunnheim released for Linux, and it looks quite fun.
SkyScrappers is deceptively simple looking, but I've been playing it a bit with the brand new SteamOS & Linux release and I've found it to be a pretty fun little fighting game.
Magicite is a very colourful looking RPG that I bet you will love, funded on Kickstarter it is great to see it now playable.
